Our dear friends at PETCO's Nanuet store have invited the HVHS to be onsite to meet and greet and chat it up about our wonderful available pets for adoption. The "Mutts Matter" event is taking place at PETCO stores nationwide to promote adoption, so whether you live in our area or elsewhere, please visit your local PETCO store and tell them the HVHS sent you. If you stop in at the Nanuet store say hello to Anne the manager and introduce yourself to our volunteer, Cheryl from 11am-3pm. Thank you!

HVHS volunteers will be onsite on Saturday, April 23rd from 11am-3pm at Best Friends to meet and greet those looking to adopt one of our wonderful animals.

The Easter Bunny is so popular as a "kodak moment" that we are hosting a 2nd photo op at PetSmart ... after all we can't put all our eggs in one basket! At this event we will take digital pictures and suggest a donation of $5. Participants will be entered into a raffle ... 1 lucky winner will have their choice of a complementary doggie bubble bath OR 1 night complementary stay at our boarding facility.

Volunteers will be onsite at Camp Bow Wow to take a photo of your pet and family members picture with the Easter Bunny ( all 2 and 4 legged family are welcome!). This event starts at 1pm and will run until 5pm. Participants will receive a 4" x 6" framed photo; donation of $15 (or 2 for $25). All proceeds will benefit the HVHS. Cash and checks payable to the "HVHS", thank you!

This dog show is a great event for dog fans to see a wide variety of breeds and learn about their temperaments, personalities and skills. Pet parents are invited to bring their dog(s) to the HVHS Headquarters at 200 Quaker Road, in Pomona on Sunday, June 14 from 10am to 3pm. Volunteers will give your pooch a bubble bath with USA-based organic shampoos and conditioners (because only the finest products will do!). The HVHS has plenty of towels, but we do recommend patrons bring towels too; suggested donation is $25.00 per dog. All bathing beauties will be entered into a raffle to win a free 2-night stay at the HVHS boarding kennel; free ID tags will be available too. Proof of rabies is required, a printout of your pet’s rabies certificate is necessary. 100% of the event's revenue will be dedicated to veterinary costs for the animals in our care.

The “Poochapalooza” event raises funds for non-profit animal shelters and rescue groups in the Hudson Valley region. Gym Kids’ mission is to help homeless animals by providing needed items and funds for their care. All monies collected by the competition are used as a donation. Gym Kids pays for the event’s expenses. Over the past years Gym Kids have received wish lists from local shelters to include Kuranda dog beds, blankets, fencing for outdoor dog run, grooming sink, a Memorial Garden project, help with veterinarian bills, pet food and more. Dogs of all sizes from all over the region come to the Town of Ramapo Pool located on Spook Rock Road in Suffern for a paws-a-tively great time. The event starts at noon until 3:30pm. Ramapo residents donate $5.00 per dog; non-residents donate $10.00 per dog. Proof of rabies is required. Splashing is absolutely encouraged. For full details see the topic under "NEWS".
